Jim
Hey, ya want to come over for dinner on Saturday?
Pete
Yeah, great. What time?
Jim
Um..a...four o'clock, no why don't you make it about three.
Pete
Isn't that a little early for dinner?
Jim
Uh, no not really.
Pete
(sigh) You've got something you want me to help with.
Jim
Ah, look this thing's right up your alley.
Pete
I bet.
Jim
Honest, remember that little oak tree we cut down last year? The one with
the fungus?
Pete
Little oak tree?!!! That thing was sixty feet tall, we almost got killed
pulling it down!!
Jim
Yeah, well I figure you and I won't make the same mistake twice.
Pete
OK, but if I've gotta work, you're gonna get stuck with two dinners, I'm
bringing a date.
Jim
Fine, as long as she can string lines and run a saw.
Pete
She'll be perfect. Her brother's a forest ranger.
Jim
Great.
Pete
It's not that pine tree is it?
Jim
Which pine tree?
Pete
It's the pine tree, I should have known. That thing's a monster!
Jim
Pete, we can handle it. I figure we string a couple lines to keep it from
falling on the house and all we have to do is let it down easy. I got Freeman
from across the street helping us.
Pete
What if we misjudge it like last year?
Jim
We won't.
Pete
I think you should get a couple more guys.
Jim
No, really this is the kinda job you only ask your best friends to help
you with.
Pete
(chuckle) Wwwhy?
Jim
(chuckle) Because no one else will do it. Believe me.....I tried.
Pete
OK.... it's your house.
Comments: This was such a fun "guy" moment. You can
tell the actors had fun doing this. Their facial expressions were priceless.
It also shows how close the two have become and how Jim (he has done this
in more than one episode) works out the details and springs (sets up) his
plan on Pete.
